Step one to creating a successful blog is finding your "niche".
-The first line of almost every article in a google search of how to start a successful blog.
I've wanted to start a blog for as long as I can remember. Countless times I've created a site, written a post or two, then deleted it. And if I didn't delete it, it was shelved. Unpublished. Never shared. Collecting dust.
Have you ever had a desire to try something new but then just as quickly as the thought came, you talk yourself out of it? Psyche yourself up in taking the first step and then become "real" with your thoughts and decide you don't qualify? I can't tell you how many times I've done this -- and I keep doing it over and over!
I want to be a photographer.
I don't know how to operate a camera.
I want to write a blog.
No one would want to hear what I have to say.
I want to own a business.
I don't have any good business ideas.
Can you relate? As I was on a walk this afternoon talking to my mom, I began to realize again the lies that keep creeping in and blocking every attempt at trying something new. If I can't see where I would land if I took a leap and gave it a shot, I back out.
Fear > faith rather than faith > fear
As I enter another cross road in life, this time with my career in the mix, I'm forced to think outside of the box. With nothing to lose and everything to gain, I'm taking the leap. I'm starting this blog as a stepping stone to what God has for me next. I want to learn and grow and I'd love for you to join me in my journey!
And as for my blogging niche ... well, my niche is simply me. Alyssa Stanley.
