Have you ever said that before? Were you really ready in 5min?

I knew it would be more challenging to start a blog with a newborn but I didn't realize just how scattered my brain would become. I can't remember the last time I held a full conversation with someone, finished a thought, or completed a task from start to finish around the house! I find myself creating strategic plans to get things done as soon as Bennett closes his eyes.

First, run and pick up those dirty diapers. Fold the blankets so you have a place to sit. Start that load of laundry. Clean the pump parts. Don't forget to go pee! If I'm lucky, I may be able to sip my coffee when its hot for a few minutes or grab a granola bar before it's go time again.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE being a mom. The chaotic rushing around to do everything you can for those little eyes that see you as their everything. And often times, find you looking quite amusing in your frazzled state.

Being a mom makes me appreciate my mom even more.

I consider myself one of the lucky ones to have had not only an amazing mom but a mom that's remained my best friend to this day! She has been everything to me.

Mom . Dad . Best friend . Discipliner . Teacher . Comforter

She did it all.

She's always meant the world to me and I've always had such a high regard for her and the impact that she'd had on my life. Now that I have a little one of my own, I have even more respect for the title of mom.

The selfless sacrifice as you lay it all down for the love you have for your child -- It's an experience that I'm growing in every day. And I would't change it for the world.

What your body goes through to carry a child then to bring it forth into the world and continue to nourish it and help it grow is indescribable. My mom always said that I am stronger than I realize, and after having Bennett I'm beginning to see that I really do have a deep strength and can give more than I thought I ever could!

It doesn't matter how short on time you are, how tired you are, how much you aren't ready to actually be ready in 5 ... you find a way because of the love for your child. It makes me think of how God thinks about us. Giving everything so we can have it all. Having a glimpse of that with my son makes me in awe of Jesus even more.

Shout out to all the women and men out there who hold the title of mom. Whether its by blood or by influence, it's a huge responsibility to the little eyes that look up to you.

I see you. I'm in awe of you.

I see you too dads. I'm also incredibly lucky to have a husband that is a strong father figure for Bennett. More accolades for dads to come.

So when you catch yourself saying I'll be ready in 5 when your hairs still a mess and the house is not clean but your baby is dressed, fed and ready to go --- well done.
